I was thinking of purchasing another scope for my rifle. The rifle is currently set up with an OG Nikon Buckmaster. I like the scope but wish it had a better reticle. Anyway, I found a Burris Veracity 3-15x50 for a very affordable price on sale.

My question is does anyone have any experience with the Veracity, either in the configuration noted above or any other capacity? Just looking for pros and cons.

Thx

I have that scope on a 300wm, very happy with it.
I also have a couple other Burris scopes, no complaints about any of them, good glass , they hold zero and track properly. Forever warranty is legit.

Two things I would like to add.
First, Nikon sucks... At least the warranty side.

Second, does anyone know what is going on at Leupold? Seems like they have changed their lineup alot in the last 5 years and I can't hardly find anything in stock anywhere?

Trying to catch up with the other optics companies id guess.
I bought a vx-3hd straight from them a few months ago, it was only in stock for a few days. My ffl buddy cant even get dealer status, so im guessing their available stuff is going to preferred (read legacy) dealers at the moment, and id also guess (again) they are behind on production.

I have a Veracity 3-15X that I received as a replacement for a Black Diamond 3-12X that I sent in for warranty work a while back. A very nice scope. It has a ffp reticle that does get rather small when the power is dialed down, but seems like it will work just fine. I haven't had opportunity to actually shoot it yet, as life has been getting in the way. It is currently on a Marlin 7000T .22LR.

I was thinking a member here owned one and noted that the power ring was rather stiff but was otherwise accepting of the scope’s performance.

The ring definitely is stiff until broken in, they should add more of a knob or lever like the Nikons have.

My old luepold vari-ii becomes a fixed power when really cold, I just put it on 4x for the season and it works out. Guess I could send it to them but I like the scope, they probably would just replace it with a freedom.

The Burris levers work good.

None of my scopes came with those besides my Nitro, and Forge....thats a really nice optics package for the price.
Actually my Riton did too, and my newest leupold had a throw lever.

Don't buy a Burris. Lifetime warranty means you will have to ship the scope for repair as many times as needed on your dime. Please don't lecture me on Burris bitterness or Burris second chance. If you don't want to listen by all means buy a Burris.

I am not the one seeking the advice here.

Wont hassle you bout your opinion, but a little more info in WHY you feel burris is a bad choice would be helpful.

When I bought my first Burris the sight picture was so blurry I couldn't focus on the target. I contacted Burris and the asked that I send it back. When it was returned, with a lengthy description of the repairs, it was no better than purchased new. contacted them again and they said the problem was me and not their scope.

Ahhh I think I remember that conversation.

Fair enough, id say the optic definitely didnt work for you. Ive had only second hand information on burris customer service, so cant say anything beyond they fixed the tracking issue my buddies scope had with no complaints.

Ive had a few issues with optics not focusing properly for me, my second Nitro was one, and two of my current scopes ive had to adjust to use outside of 400-600yds.
