Greetings to all. Thank you very much for accepting me in the forum.

I have been trying to find parts for my Bushmaster Carbon 15 type 97 for over 2 years.

Searching the net, I was able to find this forum which is full of useful information.

I need to find a picatinny rail that is factory or adaptable to my Carbon 15 Type 97.

Do you have any idea where I can buy existing or retrofit parts online?

Here I attach photos of a Bushmaster type 97 stock and 2 bushmasters with different picatinny, one has a picatinny on the upper and the other is a complete handguard.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for taking the time to read.

It looks like your Bushmaster has a flat top, right? There are lots of flat bottomed Pic rails that could be attached, requiring holes to be drilled in your upper. Undrilled Pic rails are available as gunsmith specials. You could then use as many screws as you wanted to make the assembly stronger. Personally, I would use four 8-40’s for strength.

Greetings, thanks for responding!

Here I attach photos of how the upper part of the upper is, in the front part it has access to put a screw and in the back I am not sure if there is an access for a screw but in the sight it has a small screw.

I'll look for information in gunsmith, I'll see what I find!

I have to get exact measurements for best performance information when selecting a picatinny rail to fit.

Thanks for the idea man!

...in the front part it has access to put a screw and in the back I am not sure if there is an access for a screw but in the sight it has a small screw...

Is the front hole threaded or smooth? What diameter is the hole? That will be important to determining if it is usable or not. A smooth hole of the correct diameter can be threaded, although I'm not sure how well the polymer upper will work for that. Sometimes material that does not have the strength properties to accept threads have threaded inserts installed to help it hold. I'm pretty sure that only 2 screws would be very marginal. Were it mine there would be at least 3, preferably 4, to ensure that it stays on.
