This weekend my buddy and I shot our M4geries at night for the first time to test how well our flash suppressors work. I was fully expecting his "Izzy flash suppressor" to be a little better than my A2. After all, it is longer and appears to be similar in design to the phantom which is supposedly better than the A2.
Suprise suprise, his rifle was throwing HUGE blinding fireballs while mine was flashing waaaaaay less. We were both using Federal XM193 from the same lot number. We didn't have a plain muzzle AR to compare against but I have seen still images of plain muzzle ARs at night and they looked just like his.
Needless to say, my buddy is pissed! This thing is welded on to the end of his barrel. He is thinking of calling Bushmaster and demanding another barrel since they specifically advertised his rifle as having a flash suppressor. I told him he might have a valid point. What do you all on this forum think? Also, does anybody else here own this muzzle device and if so, have you found similar results?
Thanks for your input.
