Bushmaster m4a3 3 round burst conversion?

Are there parts available that make this even possible? I really have no need for it, but i figure it would be pretty fun at the range. I wouldn't have the cash to go buy a dedicated full auto and am just wondering if anybody makes the conversion parts to turn my current bushmaster into either a full auto or preferably a 3-round burst? And yes, I would check with BATF and file all the paperwork and wait for the stamp and all that. I talked with the local "chief law enforcement officer" and he said he'd give me his signature, which was my main concern as I like I said before, I really have no need for it other than wanting it to play with.

(Also, if there is such a kit, do any of you know a good excuse I can tell my wife why I need to spend a few hundred bucks on turning the gun full auto?)

Don't know of any kit per say but I imagine you better come up with an excuse for spending a few thousand rather than hundred. I am sure these will be pretty spendy if found.

Nope you can't convert it. You have to buy a registered receiver (aka it was registered before 1986) and then pay a 200$ tax to the BATFE. A complete full auto m4/ select fire would likely cost around 15K dollars. You can't make your own unless your a manufacture.

But like GregGry just told you, it is against Federal law to make, modify, or convert any firearm made after 1986 to fire more then one shot per trigger pull, unless you are a manufacture, and selling to military or law enforcement.

There was athread that may interest you imabballer. With a little searching you should be able to find it. I believe it was modified sear that allowed your gun to fire with one pull of the trigger and one release of the trigger. Since it was a single shot per trigger action I think the ATF regarded it as legal and no stamp was needed.

If it fires more then one shot through the normal trigger action, it is against the law.

Are you sure I thought they defined it has pulling the trigger as 1 action and releasing it as another action. Now I am going to have to try and dig that thread up.

I'm selling a registered autosear and M16 fire control parts right here, which will allow you to legally convert your Bushmaster to full-auto. You'll also need to pay the transfer tax from your dealer to yourself and whatever your dealer charges you to do the transfer.

If you really want 3-round burst you can get a slightly different fire control group that will allow it, but it still requires the RDIAS to function. There is no legal difference between 3-round burst and full-auto, just a mechanical difference.

what about the guys on utube putting a staple in the sire of their mini 14. so it fire once when you pull the trig and again when you release the trig. thing is you cant stop till U empty the mag or drop it out. they say its legal. dont they also make trap shotguns that do this?
