Is Leupold getting ready to release a new line? Their scopes are 38% off on Midway and Optics planet. That seems insanely high to me.

I admit I have made a similar post earlier, you guys gave me a ton of good feedback. But now is the time that I will be buying. I was trying to stay around $1500ish. Then I saw the sale.

I want to get your take on the products listed below. I want know what your hands on experience is with these scopes. Tell me about the overall quality, durablity, clarity of glass through the magnification range, and brightness of the illumination during the day. Also talk about the cons of each.

Just to refresh you guys. I was trying to build a good 0-600 yard rifle. I have an Ar in 308 with an 18.5 inch barrel. I will be shooting at mainly paper targets at 200-400 yards. There will be a few 600 yards shots, as my range has that distance. I will also take some deer and hogs with this as well.

I loves the idea of a scope that can be used as a red dot, but zoom out to hit at 400-500 yard. I fully acknowledge that a 1-6x would be a bit of a struggle at 600 yards, even with a cds dial from Leupold.

So I am heavily leaning toward the 2-12x from Leupold, and it cds dial.

Leupold
1-6x with CMR-2 reticle. $960

2-12x with firedot LR reticle $960

3-18x with varmit hunter reticle $1120

Worried quicker closer shots would be difficult. When I do some training.

Bushnell Tactile elite

1-8.5x with BTR-2 reticle $1660

Also realize hitting 600 yards will be hard at 8.5x. 500 would be a bit easier though.

3-12x Non illuminated G2H reticle $1098, heavily reduced price

Primary Arms
1-8x with ACSS in 308 reticle. $1300 Probably good to 500 yards

I've long been a big fan of Bushnell's Elite series, but Leupold is obviously a real solid manufacturer, too. But, that big discount on the Leupold's would really be grabbing my attention, plus, one of my personal philosophies when buying toys is, "all things being more or less equal, go with best trade/re-sale potential", and that is definitely going to be the Leupolds.
Also, while Bushnell's customer service/warranty is very good (based on the one time I used it), Leupold's is so good it's almost crazy (replacing busted scopes bought at garage sales, etc.)

I don't have these scopes in particular, but I do own 3 Elites and several Leupolds. In general, the lens clarity on my Leupolds is better. The Elites are really good scopes, but my Leupolds are just a bit better. I recently bought a Leupold VX3 3.5-10X for a very low price. I already have one and do not have a rifle to put the new one on, but it was too good a deal to pass up. That's how much I like Leupold.
