I've been watching the Bushnell Elite Tactical scopes on Amazon and finally struck. The one I bought is the ERS 6-24x50 with first focal plane reticle and 30MM tube. It is a mil/mil scope and has the G2 reticle. Made in Japan, purportedly at Light Optic Works (LOW), which makes scopes and scope components for Night Force and other high end scope brands. It finally dropped below $600.

That's a good deal. The Bushnell Tactical HDMR (34 mm 5-21) with Horus Tremor has become a staple of Special Operations - I thoroughly enjoy mine. Shop carefully for your rings- depending on what this is going on top of, you may have issues with that large objective lens. To get the most out of that scope, take a look at the ballistic programs available for your gun/scope combo. I use Horus ATRAG.

This is the one I have:

It's on a Thompson/Center R55 rifle:

I use Burris Signature Zee rings, 30mm matt high. It gives me a small gap between the scope objective and my barrel.
I'm very happy with that scope and rings combination.

Check what I paid, this was in 2013 (from OpticsPlanet):

Thanks, FL-NC. I liked the features on this one and the fact that it is made in Japan. I've read a lot of good things about the Bushnell elite tactical scopes.

I thought long and hard about getting that one rather than G2 reticle. I settled on the G2 because it was $120 cheaper and I would like to try the Horus type reticle.
Amazon still has your model for a little over $700.

That is a very nice looking rig. What caliber is it?

I’ve never been disappointed in any Bushnell Elite or Elite Tactical, for the money.

No surprises there. Elite series scopes are essentially former Bausch & Lomb scopes, rebranded and slightly modernized. I checked Bushnell website a while ago and noticed that only Elite Tactical series scopes remain, Elite seems to have been rebranded to a number of different model series. And prices... well, if 3200 and 4200 series offered good BFTB even at MSRP and 6500 wasn't bad either, the new Forge/Nitro scopes had better be exceptional to justify the price hike. They're getting awfully close to lower end Swarovski/Zeiss money now. Elite Tactical is in Z5/Z6/Victory MSRP segment. Call me a snob but I much rather choose either of them over a(ny?) Bushnell if there isn't a clear incentive in pricing policy.
