I was kinda surprised to see bushnell come out with a laser range finder at the same price as the Swarovski. I got to put my hands on it this past weekend and was reasonably impressed.

We had a 1 mile target (12" steel plate) and both the bushnell and my swaro were able to get one reading on it out of several attempts, but the reading was identical - to the yard. (well, actually mine was meters but when converted to yards was same distance exactly)

Ranging steel targets out to 1200 yrds was consistent for both and resulted in same readings again.

The Bushnell is 10x and a bit heavier and bulkier than the swaro which is only 8x. Of course, the bushnell is binocular and the swaro is mono.

The button on the bushnell is easier to use than the swaro.

The bushnell has a couple extra features I found interesting. First, it will tell you your angle to the target, and horizontal distance. Second, it has a brush mode that ignores twigs in the path and focuses on the more distant target. (pretty dang useful as i have this problem all the time, especially when laying in high grass). Third, I think you can do something with ballistics in it, but I wasn't really clear how that worked.

anyway, not an endorsement or anything, but definitely something to consider if you're in the market
