I put in a bid for a NIB CZ 75 30th Anniversary gun on Gunbroker for about $100 less than I thought would be the final price. I did the same on a HK P7.

I then stumbled upon a local person selling an unfired Sig 232 in Stainless and made an offer which was accepted.

I didn't really think I'd have a chance of winning the CZ and thought the chanced of winning the HK were 50/50.

I won both the CZ and the HK! :what:

I have never spent so much money in a two day period without having a new car or house to show for it! :D

Really happy about my three new acquisitions, but I'm thinking I may have to sell some of my other guns as a result.

I've got to set a new rule for myself to never bid on more than one gun at a time, no matter what I think my odds of winning the auction are.

I do have the comfort of knowing that I could always make my money back if I needed to sell. Probably wouldn't make much of a profit since I'm out shipping and transfer fees but I don't plan on selling them for a while, so who knows!

We Have a Winner

Kinda like winning a Trifecta.;)
That'l give something to look at for a few days.

I like all of those.

This has happened to me, twice, but not for as much money as you spent! One was on a Dan Wesson Model 715, I had to leave and I put in a bid only slightly higher than what was already on it, and left home, thinking, "Ill never get it for 268 bucks!" I went to work, and forgot to even check it, then on the way home, I went into a local gun store and saw a really nice condition Model 15 cheap, so I buy it. I get home and see I won the 715! The 715 is in really nice shape, and the 15, while not quite as nice looking as the 715, shoots great, and I wouldn't worry about a minor scratch on it if I CCW'ed it.

The other one wasn't gun related at all, but it's the same deal. I put bids in on two old shortwave radios, thinking I would be outbid on one or both very soon. We had an outage on the cable, and when I checked I won both! It worked out ok, I sold one of them after a little cleanup on it for a nice 50 buck profit, and the other one works, and looks great.

If I did that my wife would go nuts! How did you pull it off? Also post the link fro gunbroker. I want to see what you got.

She doesn't know yet. I actually did get the "OK" from her to buy some guns as collectibles/investments . Actually, the deal was that I have to give her an equal amount to that which I spend on collectible guns for her to invest in other ways. Dang, it just hit me that this cost double what I thought!

I can definately categorize the HK and the CZ 30th Anniversary as investments. The Sig 232, maybe a stretch since they're still in production.

Here are the pics. The CZ pic isn't good, but I'm sure it looks like every other 75B 30th Anniversary--delightfully tacky. ;)

Come on Dad, tell us how much you spent. It's only an expensive week end if you spent too much.

Divorce would be even more expensive!

Total spent was $1535.99 + shipping and transfer fees for a grand total of $1620.99 (unless my FFL gives me a break on the multi-gun transfers which he normally does).
