Okay, okay...this really isn't about baseball at all, but I would take some Cracker Jacks. It's about the Case Peanut knife and how much I've grown to like it. I had been carrying a little Swiss Army Knife for quite some time when on a whim I bought a little Peanut knife with the brown Delrin scales and SS blades. It's the least expensive Peanut there is and I still think it's a good looking knife, plus it carries easily in any size pocket. And, talk about handy. I've got larger knives that I also sometimes carry, but this one is with me all of the time.

I have really moved away from collecting different things simply for the sake of collecting them, but I sure have found myself on the interweb and at Bass Pro a lot lately looking at all of the different Peanuts that are available. I don't know if I'll be able to help myself. :D

Soooo, buy me some Peanuts and Cracker Jacks...

You're touching a subject very near and dear to my heart.

My father was given a new Peanut by his mother when he went off to the university. He was the first one in his family to go for a higher education. Then WW2 broke out, and for the next 4 years he carried that little peanut through some weird times. After the war, he worked out of Washington D.C. till he retired.

When he passed on in 1981, he had it in his pants pocket/ It had been his only pocket knife since he got it, just as the old Colt Woodsman had been his only gun. I saw him use that little knife for fishing, small game, camping, household chores, and makeshift repairs.

He got a lot of milage out of it.

Same here.

I was born with a Case Peanut in my dresser drawer crib, along with a .22 revolver and other items.

I too had Mentors, that carried a Peanut, and Colt Woodsmans. I myself have some life experiences and memories, associated with the Case Peanut.

For the first time in over five decades, I do not have a Peanut, some know why, and perhaps it is time for me get another.
Carl and some others would guess right off the one I want ( and most known for *wink*)

Peanut is a lot more knife than many fully understand.

Oh great, now I got the munchies for Cracker-Jacks, Dr. Pepper, and after messing with the prize, and finishing the 'jacks', making binoculars out of the CJ box.

*smile*

Right now, with Case laying off workers and having a hard time, it may be the time to go get that nice chestnut bone peanut, or yeller handle sodbuster. In CV, I may add.

You can always use another good pocket knife, and Case is an American institution that needs some support right now. Be a darn shame to see them go the way of Schrade or Camillus.

I just happened to be passing by a Case outlet store today and picked up another Peanut. Boy, there was a lot to chose from.
