I have gotten really good deals on premium silencers since the start of the plandemic.
The first one was a new 9mm osprey, with no accessories shipped to NFA jail, including sales tax for a little under $600.
Note, the supply of cheap 9mm ospreys seems to have dried up mostly.
The second one was my new rebel SOS hunter 30 cal $375 shipping including sales tax. The base price had been around 400 to 450. Not a huge discount.
Note, I had heard that rebel/value cans was doing $100 off since I got mine.
Lastly got a Osprey 45 just the other day for a little over $600 shipped with sales tax.
6 months ago you couldn't touch a new one for less than 700. Add shipping and sales tax you were looking 800+ easy.

Also I got the tax stamp for that rebel 30 cal back after about 5 months. Which is really weird.

How recent was that Rebel paperwork? I submitted paperwork for a Dead Air Mask back in late May. It took the BATFE a month to cash the check...much slower than previous submissions I've made. In previous experience, the check usually cleared in 2-3 weeks.

I stock Rebels and would never consider them a "premium" brand. Not junk, but definitely not premium.
Rebel shut their doors last fall and sent dealers a "Rebel no longer has an FFL so we can't make or repair anything" email. (yet FFL EzCheck showed their FFL as valid)
Today I get an email from the "new Rebel".....some guy in Georgia bought the name and has taken over manufacturing.

Was talking about the ospreys.
The only reason it's worth a mention is they're supposedly an additional $100 off their usual $400ish price tag.
New owners maybe the reason for the $100 price cut.
I think around $300 is a good deal for a first time silencer buyer who wants one that is cleanable.
The typical $600 to $1,000 price tag scares a lot of people away from 30 cal silencers.

As a manufacturer and machinist with decent metallurgical knowledge, I would absolutely classify them as junk. Not trying to be snooty or put down what others have bought, but seriously, they are almost entirely aluminum (not even anodized), and simply do not perform well.

There is a place for all-aluminum cans, to be sure, but not spanning your entire product line. Toward the end, they finally figured out the baffles needed steel cone tips, and that helps with erosion, but you still have to maintain very low ROF with rifles lest they turn into grenades. The only all-aluminum can I make is my Canine, a special purpose wet & wiped 9mm can that, at only 4" long and 3-1/2 ounces, is meant to be carried much more than shot. I wouldn't even consider an aluminum housing on a rifle supppressor, especially when I can build them entirely from super-strong 17-4 stainless and come in under a pound for a 1.6x8" .30 caliber full auto & magnum rated critter.

I get a few Rebels in for service, and there's really not a lot I can do with them other than make them accept different mounts/adapters. Otherwise, I have to do what I do with some other crap cans and turn the serialized portion of the tube into a sleeve that goes over a fully welded 17-4 blast chamber & core in order to comply with ATF regs while effectively replacing the whole thing.

Are the diy manufacturers extremely backlogged I assume? Pretty sure I would never wait 12+ months for a can again.

Mine has the steel cone tips. I wouldn't have bought it if it didn't, not for that much money.
I can/did get a stackable solovent trap about the size of the SOS hunter for half the price and with double the cones.
A rebel adaptor that goes over a muzzle break would be sweet, I will take 2 that go on a rebel SOS hunter. One for 1/2-28 and another for a 5/8-24 muzzel.

I'm not too worried about wearing them out. Between what I have approved and in my possession, form 4s in NFA jail, in process form 1s and solovent traps hanging out that I need to to form 1 I think I'll have 12 or 13.
Probably have about 5 rim fire cans, a 5.7x28, at least one 5.56, two or three 30 cals, two 9mm, a 45. Then there's the monstrosity, an impulse buy that I'm not sure what to do with, might make it into a big bore rifle can.

I efiled a form 1 to make another 22 can last week. I ordered the hardware from XRT Tactical. They are very well regarded on the Form1 forum.

I just Eform1ed another "trash can" (see my locked post) and the cheap rebel SOS hunter knock off.
I'm going to punch out the rebel knock off for 30 cal but it won't be for full power stuff such as 308, more like 30carbine, 300bo, 7.62commie (the smaller one).

Why would the anti's want to make anything easier for you, or care about your hearing.

You have guns, you're a pariah, and that's that.

I’ve been thinking about a silencer for a while now. Maybe it’s time to start looking into buying one.

My plan is to put in a electronic form and make my own in the near future. Yes I know it’s a gamble on post election craziness, but the way I look at it, there is one side who wants them outright banned and if they do that then having a stamp for an item now doesn’t seem to help a lot of it becomes contraband. I do not see the current political crop allowing for people to keep what they legally own right now.
