Oh gee only $4.50 per round.

Every email I get from them for the last three month I just delete. I don't even bother opening them up. Straight to the trash.

We are quick to bash merchants who are taking advantage of the political climate. Yet, the panic was started on forums just like this one. There was thread after thread about the oncoming ammo shortage. The reelection of Obama was going to lead to new gun laws. The few voices of reason were quickly drowned out by those who believed in the panic. There were even threads about making an AR15 legal. Yet, no legislation had made it out of committee onto the floor for a vote in either the house or senate.

I have to commend the moderators here at the high road for deleting a lot of panic inducing threads. Now that anti gun legislation is dead maybe we will be able to get ammo at normal prices in a couple of months.

Yes, we should not support vendors who are taking advantage of the current situation. They have shown their true colors. I belong to a gun club that joins members together to make large ammo purchases at wholesale prices. Ammo prices have went up at the wholesale level but they have not gone up to match CTD pricing. A vendor should be able to make a reasonable profit selling 9mm range ammo at $15 a box, when they can get it.

So CTD is going after some short-term gain for what will inevitably be some long-term pain. They've made that choice. Other vendors, as mentioned above, have decided that the prudent thing is to develop and maintain long-term relationships with their customers. I guess time will tell how that will all work out for those concerned.

P.S. -- Am I reading that right? The day after the AWB gets soundly defeated, CTD sends out a sales flyer urging folks to get their ARs before they're banned?

^^^^Come on out to California; the "panic" is much worse than any federal law could have hoped to be, yet is really, very likely to be made law. On 16 April, the Assembly Public Safety Committee passed through several very draconian bills, and from there those bills will move on through some more steps before Jerry Brown will likely sign most, if not all. The California Rifle and Pistol Association is currently tracking 48 bills; so for us out here, the "panic" is much more reality than in North Carolina.

You are correct. I failed to remember that there is still plenty of state AWB legislation in the works.

I began boycotting CTD back in 2008-2009. Of course, they weren't the only ones throwing that line on their customers. Heard several gun shop associates lay it on thick to scare people into buying $2500 ARs.

I usually buy from MidwayUSA, even when I could save a few dollars somewhere else.

Sweet I'm gonna order 3 of those AR's and 3000rds of that special ammo.....
