The home state is TN. The problem is that I'm flying back. Would like to be able to drive, but it's impossible.

Even though the plan is only to visit a large show in nearby Orlando, the "rifle bug" can always bite.

Without any info from a gun store (very low FFL transfer charge) near my home, will most retail sellers at southern shows often accept some sort of down payment on a WW2-Korean era vintage rifle, and wait about two days to then receive the FFL data from the buyer's local store?

If this is possible, it would to be a very bad idea to trust a private seller with such a procedure, having never been in either situation. It's a shame, because so many private sellers have nice guns at competitive prices (used milsurps).

It wouldn't hurt to ask the dealer from who you're buying the rifle - it's not uncommon here in Va. to have buyers from Md. visit shows, and buy firearms.

Thanks very much guys. It was a better show than any near Memphis (all three...).

One local guy actually had several beautiful Enfield #4/Mk. 1s and an appealing #5 "Jungle". I have his business card;) (hint).

Decided to somehow resist the usual impulse buying and contemplate bulk ammo instead for later.
