buying either cz-82 or S&W 5906

Oh, one other thought. It seems like the Smith is a find. The CZ 82 you come across frequently at that price.

consider the 915 or 910. These are the value models of the 5906, and from what I understand, they have the same durability and overall functionality.

Good pistols, but they're not the 5906. They're a 5903 (aluminum alloy frame), with some cost-cutting measures like single-sided decocker, more basic sights and less refined fit & finish. They were introduced when S&W realized that many people didn't seem top appreciate the refinements of the 5906/5903 to the tune of $750, so the 908/915 were introduced at the ~$450 price point to attract more frugal buyers.
