I spoke with Byron a short while ago, and he asked me to tell "THR in general" how he's doing.

Byron had a stroke a couple of weeks ago. He spent a few days in hospital, and is now in rehab, recovering strength. He's doing fine, and the doctors tell him that he should regain full muscle tone and function in time.

If anyone would like to send him a card, his address for the next ten days or so will be:

Walton Rehabilitation Hospital
Attn: Byron Quick
Room #102-B
1355 Independence Dr.
Augusta, GA 30901

Please keep him in your prayers.

Thanks for the update, we will keep byron in our prayers along with Blackhawk....So Byron we will look forward to your return here and your good health, Best wishes

Man, what is up lately?

Glad to hear things are getting better. I hope you get well faster than your namesake.

I hope Byron a quick recovery. Best wishes. I'll shoot off some rounds for you and Blackhawk.

I'll be sending a card to him today. I'd love to hear that Byron got about a hundred cards and letters from THR members.

Piece of white paper: $0.03
Pencil or crayon: $0.12
Envelope: $0.06
First class postage stamp: $0.37

Lifting the spirits of a fellow THR member: Priceless! :D

Byron Quick Update

I went down to the hospital and spent some time with Byron today. He's doing better(little by little) and his confidence is high. Byron claims that the physical therapist is actually from an S&M cult. :scrutiny: :D He is in good spirits and wants everyone on THR to know that he will be back in his rare form in no time. His doctor seems to think that he may be dischareged in a couple of weeks. He just needs to regain some strength. Those who would like to contact him can do so at (706)823-8665. This is a direct line to his room at the hospital. The address is listed in Preacherman's Floated Post. Byron wishes everyone well and will return to our intimate little forum as soon as he is able.

Best to All,

Doug Burchfield

Dustind ... IIRC ''S&M'' means Sadism and Masochism!!:p :D

Preacherman .. thx for the info and addy ... a card is going in tomorrow's mail right now.

Byron .. you are missed .... keep up the recuperation and with luck we'll see you back in the fold quite soon. Thoughts are with you my friend.:)

Byron Quick,

I want to clarify my username...these are my first and last name initals. Okay? :D

humm...maybe that is why I get weird PM's from THR...or folks have nothing to do with me. :p

Mr. Quick , wishing you well and a speedy recovery.

Steve

Byron appears to be in fairly good spirits. We went for a stroll (in his case, a roll  ) around the nearby Walton house.

He eagerly seized upon his issue of SWAT, when I brought it. :D

Dustind ... IIRC ''S&M'' means Sadism and Masochism!!
Precisely.

I've never suffered their attentions myself, but I've heard people refering to them as 'Physical Terrorist' or 'Physical Torturer' at times. They certainly seem to be of the 'No Pain, No Gain' persuasion. :neener:

To get back on topic, Here's hoping Byron improves and recovers!

Cheers,
ErikM

Wish him a speedy recovery.

A copy of SWAT? That'll make him the talk of the hospital I'm sure!

Come back soon!! That's an order!

At this point (Thurs night), he's supposed to be released from Walton Rehab on Monday, though it's unknown how long it'll be before he can go back to work.

He now has a patch over his left eye, which makes him look quite the pirate...now, he just needs a cutlass. :)

John

Thx for the update .. most encouraging . :) .. Still quite a long haul ahead tho I guess but certainly hope all continues as well as it is sounding .. and hope too he will be able to come back here now and again once at home.

Oh ... apart from cutlass .. hey, you forgot the parrot on the shoulder!! :D

A Norwegian Blue, of course, "pining for the fjords"...
ROTFLMAO ... heck Preacher now you got me goin ... LOL ...

''Lovely plumage, the Norwegian Blue''

''Here Polly ... here Polly, Polly''

''There, it moved''

''No it didn't .... it was you shakin the cage, and if it didn't have it's feet nailed to the perch it'd have fallen over''.

''This parrot is no more - it is a LATE parrot - it is bereft of life and has gone to meet its maker''.

Sorry ... such a classic ..... :D :D

Welcome back Byron Quick. Glad to see things are looking up.

Continued prayers for you and Blackhawk, and the rest of our extended THR family.

Jeez - I have no idea how I have missed this for so long. I'm glad to hear you're back home, and sorry to hear of your stroke. Congratulations on the S&M woman, though - some people have all the luck

Oh, by the way........HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!

Are you 21 yet? :D

Byron-
Many happy returns, good to hear you're making progress. Stick with the PT - I know it's tedious and painful, but there's a lot of truth in the saying about the more you sweat in the gym, the less you'll sweat in the world, hang in there, matey:cool:
