The closest address I can find for the Chief Law Enforcement Officer here is the PO box for the general mailing address. The box on the instructions is more specific, but I'll be darned if a couple of these questions aren't purposely a little vague.

Just don't wanna mess this up, because the powers that be know it's already going to be a wait to get that through.

The CLEO letter is simply notification, they don't sign off on anything and unless your name sets off warning bells they don't contact the BATF or anything. I think my local department just file 13's the damn things. If that's the address they give, don't worry about it. If you're really worried, just call the department and ask for the street address.

zoom is right, send it to whatever they list their mailing address as and you have met your obligation. That's all you have to do is send notification.

Well, good. I really do appreciate how it's only for the local files. I love files like that.

Have an online friend that got a license (can't remember if it was C&R or CCW) in a shall-issue state, and the sheriff (probably new) actually called him to tell him he wasn't signing off on it.

Friend: You don't need to. It's just for the record, the license has been issued and received already.

Sheriff: I won't consider that valid.

Friend: Well... Too bad.

:D
