Im getting ready to send out my C&R applications.

Do I send the CLEO copy to the City or County department? Both have jusisdiction, yet both are indipendent of each other.

Il call tomorrow but just wondered what you all thought

Thanks
Jesse

I sent mine to the city PD. If you live in an incorporated area (within the city limits) the PD would be the correct agency. If you live outside an incorporated area then the county sheriff's office would do.

 I have a question as well. This may sound stupid but I live in Southern California and I do not want to give them any excuse to deny me the license.

# 15 on the form it asks for your signature and title, what are they asking for as title Mr. Sir. Jr. or are they asking for owner.

In addition, I read somewhere that you should send a letter of intent to the CLEO or can I just send in the form.

Much Thanks in advance.

Owner or Collector for title...I put Collector

You have to send the form itself, not just a letter, see #14 on the form. one of the boxes you have to initial says you will send a copy of the form to the CLEO. You've got the green form, (?) the 2nd copy says CLEO at the bottom of it. It's also in the instructions on the back of the form, #3.

I also made a copy for myself of the completed form, all 4 sides.

I sent in the copy of the form to the CLEO, and on the envelope I wrote F.Y.I.

Nothing fancy, no need.

My situation is an odd one but not uncommon. The county police is in charge of the majority of law enforcement in my county but the Sheriff has the greatest LE authority because he's elected.

I left my C&R form with his office.

In addition, I read somewhere that you should send a letter of intent to the CLEO or can I just send in the form.

Since I live in a residential-zoned area, I included a letter to the CLEO just to let him know it was for collecting only, that I wasn't trying to start a business or anything. I didn't know how much (if anything) they might have known about the C&R license.

I was never contacted or anything.:D

The CLEO copy is just a FYI. I haven't heard of a case where the CLEO actually opposed the app and gummed up the works. I'm in LA County where all things firearms are difficult, but had no problem getting my C&R.

I called up the city and they said to send to them, I also got a pretty good cover letter off of Cruffler.com.

I do have a question though.

In the #9 columns, can I write sideways? It seems silly, but the box for the ss# is .5"x2"

Also, where it asks for you addresses over the last 5 years, can I use a new box for every address?

Thanks for the responses,

Jesse
