Non-magnetic 30-06 ammo will be available for purchase that you can link up yourself and give this thing a try!! There will also be a

semi-auto B.A.R. and other various rifles to try.

What is an Appleseed Rifle Marksmanship Clinic About?

What is an Appleseed you ask?
The Appleseed Program is designed to take you from being a simple rifle owner to being a true rifleman. All throughout American history, the rifleman has been defined as a marksman capable of hitting a man-sized target from 500 yards away — no ifs, ands or buts about it. This 500-yard range is traditionally known as "the rifleman's quarter-mile;" a rifleman can hit just about any target he can see. This skill was particulary evident in the birth of our country, and was the difference in winning the Revolutionary War.

So why me?
This country was founded and won by riflemen who fought and beat British forces. We invite all interested marksmen to learn the skills and techniques necessary to shoot proficiently; and then hope you'll participate in teaching and practicing with others so that together we can save this great land. Why you? Well, that's simple: if you're on this page we're betting you're a patriot, and we hope you answer the call.

What's a rifleman?
In short, a rifleman is an armed American, trained in the tradition of American Liberty. It's a man who has learned to shoot a rifle accurately — accurate enough to score "expert" on the Army Qualification Course. Until you can do that, you're considered a "Cook," unprepared and unqualified to carry a rifle on the firing line of freedom. But after attending an Appleseed AQT shoot, you'll have the credentials necessary to be a true rifleman, and will understand the critical need for defending freedom in this country.

only be the date, which is Sept. 13-14,2008 but, we are taking this opportunity to commemorate the ratification of the Constitution of the

Folks, there are three and a half weeks to prepare to score Expert at the upcoming Corona Appleseed at Raahauge's- next one is October 18-19.
Honor your right to keep and bear arms by working to do so well.

“Well, I already do that, I shoot plenty,” you say.

You might get proficient shooting on your own, (after awhile), but there is nothing like an Appleseed to ramp up the learning process. Most lifetime informal shooters will walk into an Appleseed on Saturday morning... and by the end of the day, they're amazed at their improvement. Appleseeders commonly print groups that are, by the end of the day, half to a third the size of their initial Saturday morning test group.

What’s the reason for such improvement? Simply this: It is the natural, expected result of a shooter who has received proper instruction, and is executing sound techniques.
Suppose you’re interested in becoming a better rifle shot, and you go to your favorite range from time to time to work toward this goal. You have a rifle, ammo, and a range, but what you’re very likely missing out on is fundamental technique coaching. If somebody has never informed you of rifle shooting fundamentals- that is, how to build solid positions, use your sights, and squeeze that trigger- you’re really unlikely to stumble across them on your own.

It’s very well to be a gun owner- but practicing rifle shooting fundamentals makes you a good shot. I’ll bet many would pay three figures to a coach to improve their golf game. That’s purely for leisure and recreation. Suppose, friend, your country issued you a rifle, and that your family and nation’s survival- let alone that of your squad- depended upon how well you knew how to use it. I believe that Appleseed can take you nearer, and faster, to that skillset than a year’s worth of unstructured primer-punching at your regular range.

Thinking about joining the military, or are you already signed up for the delayed entry program? Appleseed teaches you how to distinguish yourself positively during your future range time. Show up with a copy of your signed service contract, your Appleseed instruction is free!

This is key to shooting well: it is not the number of rounds you fire over your lifetime that makes you a good shot. You can expend thousands of rounds- but with poor shooting form, you generate poor groupings, smoke, and noise. What a difference, though, a little solid coaching makes, and in a very few rounds.

Your average inexperienced (but Appleseeded) rifle owner will often shoot a rifle more accurately than an experienced (but never coached) rifle owner. To prove this out, all you have to do is observe the people who shoot at Appleseeds, and chat with them about their shooting background.
Two trends crystallize: The fact that people have been shooting ‘for years’ has no bearing necessarily on their ability to shoot well. However, the fact that people may have fired fewer than a hundred shots prior to Appleseed does not prevent them from shooting extremely well, after some proper coaching.

Come on out- if shooting is worth your time, then it’s worth learning how to do it well.
Appleseed is such a stand-out program precisely because American shooting is often done informally and absent solid coaching. As such, many times we simply shoot for fun, but seldom for the purpose of improvement, and almost never after having been coached properly. I’m all for fun. But a weekend of Appleseed builds you a solid foundation for you to practice, refine and improve your shooting over your lifetime. And that, friends, is true fun that is also the proper tribute due Liberty.

Anybody planning to carpool? Great way to meet your fellow gun owners, just yak all the way in, talking guns and politics to your heart’s content without the inevitable eye glaze-over of your non-shooting buddies who wish you followed sports or TV.

Glen Helen CA Appleseed November 14-15th 2009

This Appleseed will be held on November 14-15th, 2009, and is our first shoot at the West End Gun Club (www.wegc.org) down near where the 210 and the 15 meet. This first shoot at this range is limited to .22 rimfire only.

Rusty? Been awhile since you last seriously shot your favorite rifle. Come knock the rust off and give the equipment a serious shake out.

You really know how to shoot? Come see if you can measure up to the standards set by the Rifleman heritage. Who knows you might stay and decide to help pass those skill on.

You'd like to come but with the economy the way it is you don't think you can afford the time and money? Come and see why Appleseed is the only long term answer to solving these problems and that you really can't afford not to come. Sometimes short term sacrifice is necessary for long term gain. Get some friends to come with you, split the costs, carpool, share rooms, camp out. When bad times are coming now is the time to network and meet up with like minded Americans working together to save this country.

This first shoot at this range is limited to .22 rimfire only at 25m.

Now, what is this going to cost you? Women, all under 21s, and active military, reserves, and National Guard are given free admittance. Guys, 21 & older that are not in the military will be charged $45 for one day, $70 for the full weekend if they pre register here: http://www.eventbrite.com/event/442127415

If they just show up at the door, it will be $50 for one day, and $80 for the weekend.

The above are the Appleseed fees. In addition there are the daily range fees which are $10/person/day or $5/under 21/day.

We shoot at 25m (82 ft) at a reduced size Army Qualification Target, scaled for 100, 200, 300, & 400 yd shooting.
We do not require the use of specialized gear, it really is a "run what you brung" shoot. We suggest the use of between .22 - 8mm rifles.

Iron sights, Tech-Sights, scopes, semi auto, bolt action, lever action, pump action, if you have it and want to learn how to shoot it better, bring it!!

The only real requirement is that there is some way to attach a sling to your rifle. If you don't have a sling we can probably loan one if you have a swivel stud to attach it to!

Plan on shooting about 250 rounds of ammo, per rifle, per day. The range is our classroom, & we very much believe in teaching and shooting.

The Appleseed Project: South Bay Rod and Gun Club, Dulzura, CA

Rifle shooting and American Revolutionary War history all weekend: a public experiment in the practical application of Liberty.

Honor brave Americans who gave their lives long ago for your Liberty by learning their stories.

If you are a new or long-time rifle shooter, spending a weekend refining fundamentals will improve your shooting. All skill levels are welcome, families especially.

Learn how to:
Shoot from standing, sitting, prone positions.
Use a loop sling.
Adjust sights.
How to mentally, physically fire each shot.

Military, police, ladies and youth pay range fees only, that’s only $5 per shooter per day.

The course of fire is at 25m on scaled targets; this is a challenging and fun course of fire derived from an Army Qualification Test. The fundamentals that bring hits at 25m apply at full distance shooting also.

What to Bring: Rifle of your choice, 250 rounds ammo per person per day, ground mat, water, sunscreen, hat, extra mags/stripper clips, sight adjustment tools, sack lunch.

Lunch while hearing Revolutionary War History! The high price paid to win our Liberty. Bring friends and family.

Rifles: Magazine or tube fed rifles are good choices. Bring extra magazines. Sling equipped rifles are good choices, especially with GI M1 Garand slings. Some Garand slings will be available to purchase at cost, but make sure your rifle has 1 ¼ inch wide swivels (not 1” swivels) to fit the Garand sling.
Scopes, optics, iron sights are all OK. 22 rimfires are good choices due to the cheap price of ammunition and 25m distance.

Who we are and what we're about: The Appleseed Program is designed to take you from being a simple rifle owner to being a true rifleman. All throughout American history, the rifleman has been defined as a marksman capable of hitting a man-sized targets from 500 yards away — no ifs, ands or buts about it. This 500-yard range is traditionally known as "the rifleman's quarter-mile;" a rifleman can hit just about any target he can see. This Appleseed will be held on October 23-24, 2010, at the West End Gun Club (www.wegc.org) down near where the 210 and the 15 meet. This shoot at this range is limited to .22 rimfire only.

You say you've never fired a rifle before?? No problem!! We will train you how to safely, efficiently and correctly operate a rifle.

You don't even have a rifle of your own? Again, not a problem. Make a note in the sign up comments and we will try our best to arrange a loaner rifle for you.

Rusty? Been awhile since you last seriously shot your favorite rifle. Come knock the rust off and give the equipment a serious shake out.

You really know how to shoot? Come see if you can measure up to the standards set by the Rifleman heritage. Who knows you might stay and decide to help pass those skill on.

You'd like to come but with the economy the way it is you don't think you can afford the time and money? For this first shoot at this range we will be using only .22 rimfire at 25m.

Now, what is this going to cost you? Women, all under 21s, and active military, reserves, and National Guard are given free admittance. If they just show up at the door, it will be $50 for one day, and $80 for the weekend.

The above are the Appleseed fees. In addition there are the daily range fees which are $10/person/day or $5/under 21/day.

We shoot at 25m (82 ft) at a reduced size Army Qualification Target, scaled for 100, 200, 300, & 400 yd shooting.
We do not require the use of specialized gear, it really is a "run what you brung" shoot. We suggest the use of between .22 - 8mm rifles.

Iron sights, Tech-Sights, scopes, semi auto, bolt action, lever action, pump action, if you have it and want to learn how to shoot it better, bring it!!

The only real requirement is that there is some way to attach a sling to your rifle. If you don't have a sling we can probably loan one if you have a swivel stud to attach it to!

Plan on shooting about 250 rounds of ammo, per rifle, per day. The range is our classroom, & we very much believe in teaching and shooting.

We gather at lunch on site to explain the importance of April 19, 1775, the beginnings of our country and our Heritage.
Plan to bring a bag lunch both days. There is not time to drive out for lunch.

We guarantee you will not want to miss this portion of the event. Come learn about the choices made by the men and women of Colonial America and their response to an oppressive King. See if you can see any comparisons that might be drawn between then and now. See what your own choices are.

No tracer ammo or ammo that attracts a magnet is allowed.
Please arrive for check in by 8:30am.
We recommend you bring: Sling; shooting jacket; elbow pads; shooting mat (or carpet remnant); water/drink bottles; teachable attitude; Bring plenty of water; If you have shade/popups bring those plus some means to anchor them against wind gusts.

We are having another Appleseed event coming to the 5 Dogs Range in Bakersfield, CA in a few weekends, November 6 -7, 2010.

A chance to prove your marksmanship mettle against the dreaded AQT, to show mastery of not only your rifle, but also your self!

A chance to hear of the choices and sacrifices the men and women of America made on April 19, 1775 in response to a confiscatory British army.

A chance to again discover your inner Patriot, and to celebrate together with fellow Americans in one of your oldest rights!

You say you've never shot a rifle before? That's one of the things we teach; safe, correct, & efficient operation of your rifle.

You say it's been awhile since your rifle has been out to the range with you, for you to see where both of you are in that "relationship"? Bring it!!

We specialize in making you a better shot with your rifle!! If you do not have one, or if yours fails during the event, we even have .22's to loan out.....just ask before the event, if possible.

*No detachable box magazines may be brought into state with capacity exceeding ten rounds. All Tubular-magazine 22s are OK.

*“Assault weapons” ban- If you’re registered with CA DOJ already, you’re fine and can shoot your AK, AR15, G3 etc. with no problem. Might want to Xerox the DOJ document and keep it in the rifle case. Do not bring an unregistered “assault weapon” into the state. Do not bring an unregistered “assault weapon” to the range. Similarly, unregistered 50 BMG is not legal.
