Caldwell brass catchers.

I have one, and mainly use it to catch .380 brass from my PPK. I shoot standing, and the catcher is mounted on a photographer's tripod. It works almost 100%... if I stand with the pistol no more than an inch or two from Caldwell's gaping maw. For my 1911, which throws its brass in random directions, it's useless. I should really spend some time with the extractor, but I'm just too lazy.

BTW this thing is a bear to assemble. Once it's all together, just don't ever tear it down.

Thinking about one of these. Mainly for 10mm brass. I don't shoot my 10mm 1911 much on account of how far it throws brass.

Me and my shooting partner have that brass catcher. You will need a heavy rock or a big box of cartridges to put inside it to keep it upright and still it will tend to fall over. And the little plastic rods (like tiny tent poles) that expand it are always coming out of the holes. It works better than nothing, barely. I've considered getting a fine mesh soccer net or similar. I'd recommend bringing along a young grandkid or neighbor kid to chase brass instead, with the payoff of showing them how to shoot a little.
On the other hand, its fun watching my nearly 80 year old shooting partner, my Dad, scrambling around trying to make sure we don't lose even one empty case. I think I'll get him a long handled butterfly net to increase my enjoyment, only because the netting our long handled fishnet is too big.

I have one and use it to catch 380 and 9mm. I just clamp it to the bench and I don't have any trouble. They sure have gotten precious, since I bought mine though.

Took mine to the range twice in the last 5 days. Mostly, I park it near the ejection port of my AR rifle. One guy in our group contributed a few 223 or 556 brass on Monday when he tossed them in there.

I got the brass catcher you wear on your right hand — I think it was Caldwell.

you can bend the wire hoop that forms the intake aperture so that it curves around the pistol ejection port and catches most of the errant brass.
