I have been using a homemade one out of a large fish landing nest and my Wife sewed in a finer mesh material. I had it mounted on a pvc pipe that would slide up and down inside a larger one. It worked OK but looked kinda crude.
I am tired of doing the chicken pecking dance picking up my brass so I invested in this one. I had some return Midway Money so I decided to use it up.
Also have a heavy tripod that is used for my chronograph so it now serves double duty.
Once you determine the trajectory of the ejected brass this thing catches 99.9% of them!! I had my doubts but damned if it doesn't work really well!!. Can be left on the shooting bench or on the tripod. It folds up into a nice flat nylon bag.
Save some wear and tear on my bad back!
