California: County Sheriffs Sue Los Angeles over Ordinance Prohibiting Possession of “Large-Capacity” Magazines

I cannot properly express my appreciation for these latest efforts to preserve our 2nd Amendment rights (and although I personally do not own or possess any detachable box magazine capable of containing more than 10 rounds, I may wish to in the future). I find it refreshing to see some of our LE community unwilling to roll over and take it. They're fighting back.

As previously reported, the City of Los Angeles has adopted an ordinance that prohibits the possession of standard capacity magazines capable of holding more than ten rounds. These magazines are possessed by millions of law-abiding Americans for a variety of legitimate purposes, including self-defense. This ordinance will not prevent violent crime. Instead, it will limit the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding gun owners who choose these magazines to defend themselves and their families.

And thank you NRA ILA.

This is great, I hope it works, but where is their standing over a city issue by people not in the city?

Some of the plaintiffs are in the city.

Some of the Plaintiffs are landlocked by the city.

Its a preemptive issue and conflicts with a few different State laws.

You can not fly in/out of LAX airport with 11+ mags even though they're legally owned per state law and are able to take in/out of the state per state law..

You can not effectively get from south of LA to north of LA with out going through LA effectively cutting the state in 1/2 (you'd have to go waaay out of your way)

It doesn't exclude off duty or retired(?) officers which conflicts with state law. (meaning every off duty cop could be arrested in LA if they were traveling with their duty gun with 11+ mag)

It pushes people that want to keep them to entered the states licensing scheme which apparently is expressly forbidden in, I think, the states constitution.

I'm sure there is more.
