California Internet Ammo sales ban?

A friend and I were just talking on the phone and he is haring from gun shops that CA will ban Internet ammo sales in Jan 2008. The only law I could find related to this would be a law to force ammo sellers to have a permit. As I understand it that bill is dead.

Have I missed anything?

No, but they were trying to require an ID to buy ammo. IIRC, that bill died on the floor.

Considering that ammo prices are at an all time high, I think it would be great for California to ban internet ammo sales. That would reduce demand, and hopefully drive down prices in free America.

That was probably AB 362. It was gutted and replaced with a 'study'.
