Has anyone shot down at the Alabama swamps range recently? I figure it might be a good place to go for some target practice during Covid but I’ve heard they’re closing it down due to idiots.

No I haven't, I generally shoot at square deal sportsman association in the Town of Maine. State rt 26 between Maine and Glenn Aubrey. Three hundred meter range. There is another one in Greene ny as well but I haven't been there yet.

That doesn’t count as western NY lol
That’s central.

I've heard there's a range there but haven't seen it. Wouldn't surprise me if it were closed from a combination of covid stuff and folks acting like idiots. Too long of a drive for me just to shoot. My club, ( Rochester Brooks ), is now allowing me to have guests again after several months of being open for members only. If you need a range to shoot on or just sight in that Mosin again let me know. Lately I've been fine tuning 7.62x54R softpoint handloads for my 91/30 and now have to chronograph a couple loads. It's a nice place to spend an hour or a day and the range officers are all very cool.

I’ll absolutely have to let you know, I really appreciate the offer, especially since I have an SKS coming any day now...Maybe I can trade you some x54r brass

As a Alabama resident I want to know how one of our ranges managed to escape and wind up on the wrong side of the Mason-Dixon line and wound up in New York, of all places!??!!??
Please give it back!:cuss::confused::evil::neener: :what::confused::confused: ...... :rofl:[/

I'd heard "Alabama" comes from a native American word meaning "where people rest" ..... :scrutiny: .... :thumbdown:

EDIT TO ADD: Just looked the state name up on Wikipedia. According to Wiki, your explanation may be closer to the truth. But there appears to be disagreement amongst experts, so ....:confused: who really knows?
