Came really close to legally messing up

Relatively new to the AR platform and wanted one in 7.62x39, I have tons of that ammo. Found a super deal on a complete AR lower and complete upper so ordered them. A few days ago something about the upper was nagging me in the back of my mind, looked at the order receipt in my email and realized I had purchased a 10.5" upper..........
I have no desire to own an AR pistol and am not interested in jumping through hoops to get it approved as a SBR. I'm returning the upper and have already ordered a 16" upper.
Gotta be careful with these "builds" so as not to inadvertently build an illegal firearm because one doesn't know any better.

I bought mine from Bear Creek Arsenal in NC. The lower cost me $150 and the 16" upper $250. Palmetto State Arsenal has complete lowers for $140 but their uppers run around $300.

Sorry, pistol lowers are around $190.

I guess that is why no normal vendors sell 15” (total pinned and welded) length uppers…..

You could go custom though.
