Can 44Rem mag dies be used to reload 444 Marlin?

Both rounds use the.430 dia. bullet. I haven't tried it as the brass supply is limited. This will be fired in a single shot crack barrel type rifle. I have the 265g Hornady FTX bullets, and correct powder and LR primers.

What say you?

You might could get a neck size effect with .44 Magnum dies and .444 Marlin brass, but the Marlin is a tapered case, 0.011" larger near the rim.

Jim beat me to it. It'll probably work for seating a bullet, but it might not be enough sizing to let it chamber.

Tried partial sizing just enough to hold bullet with 44 MAG dies but they jammed while trying to feed in my Guide Gun. Ended up getting a 444 set.

Thanks we have single shot rifles and could get by. But i decided to get some 444 narlin dies.appreciate your input.

With different 444's you would need to keep the brass with that particular rifle if you had attempted to partially resize. Reloading it can save you good money over factory as well.

I believe the 444 is tapered… and a hell of a lot longer lol.
