Several years ago I bought a High Standard Model 10B ... designed as a bullpup for police departments, with a barrel very close to 18" exactly . The gun shop spent about 20 minutes, fidding with sticks, rods and rulers, and finally determined that it had a legal barrel. If I had a choice, I'd have chosen 18.25", to avoid that hassle.
