Just because I am real traditional when it comes to guns and this is my idea of a proper auto pistol and rig.

An ivory-stocked Colt Series '70 Gold Cup in a floral carved El Paso Saddlery holster and belt. The gold and silver buckle with the old silver dollar was a gift from my mother many years ago (she likes big and brash jewelry and thinks that I do, too) and I had it in a drawer for all this time not knowing what it might go with. Then I bought this gun belt and I thought the buckle works with it pretty well.

If I lived where open carry was legal, and I was inclined to do so, this is what I would wear just so folks would know I was a man of moral substance. :)

Looking good there. Ivory on a nicely blued Colt goes really well. IMO, you need a blued Gold Cup or Delta Elite with silver grips made to match the buckle, maybe with a buffalo nickel inlay.

I love the rig. It would definitely show you were a man of substance. The pistol isn't bad, either.:):)

I'm not sure whether you can post that photo, but I'm darn sure glad that you did!!!

That is a bee-you-tee-full set up :what:

Thanks for sharing.

Very nice, classic look for the pistol and rig. Tell me you shoot the pistol, beautiful as it is! I'd like to see some pics of the pistol, too.

Certainly worthy of a barbecue gun, and then some!

While I dislike that style of Holster, its beautiful.

I would wear it around the house just for the heck of it.

Nothing fancy about the gun except for the ivory stocks (which I have on all of my 1911s).

Yes, it gets used. I shoot all of my guns.

My wife keeps asking me why I have holsters when I never actually wear them. Once in a while I will wear a handgun when shooting alone at the range as you hear stories about people murdered by gun thieves.

Nice rig; looks like an old Tom Threeperson's design. I love quality leather and your rig is about as nice as they come. Also like the ivory grips; very classy looking without being overstated. Well done all the way around.

Beautiful pistol and leather! How many bears did you have to rassle to win that buckle?

Gotta be the spoilsport though and point out: be very, very careful with that uncovered trigger.

I realize it's a 1911 with thumb and grip safety, and a hammer block thumbstrap as well so it's not quite the danger that a DAO pistol would be with an uncovered trigger, but it's still a recipe for an unpleasantness.
