Yes, this sounds like a bad idea off the bat, let me explain. I am moving to Idaho at the end of the year. I now live in Cali, and cannot have mags for my AR or M1A over 10 rds.
My wife's uncle already lives in Idaho. The guy is now 67 years old, but I have heard he used to get in a lot of trouble back in his 20's (has done time). That was a long long time ago, and I think he has outgrown it by now. I am not too close with him, so I feel weird asking him if he has a felony on his record.
Anyway, I would not be storing any actual firearms with him, just the magazines that I want to order ASAP (Att. Gen Holder just announced plans to reinstate AWB, permanently).
I'm sure he would do it, he is an old cowboy, but I would not want to get him in any trouble.
So, can he be in possession of mags, if no weapons are there?
edit: by the way, I would actually be storing them with his 23 year old son, but since it is the same home, I figure the same rules still apply. Am I correct?
