Is it possible,or has anyone ever used a bullet for reloading a 45 colt revolver in a inline 50 cal.;My 50 cal CVA shoots 45 diameter conicals in a sabot.Could I load my 255 gn. lfn cast bullets in a sabot and experiment for accuracy or is this a no-no?I have thousands of home cast bullets for my old 45 cal revolvers and long guns, but no longer have any of them.I know I could melt and recast them, but I thought I would get some input. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the input,I tried it and at 50yds. the bullet struck about 4 in. higher than the conicals struck,no sign of keyholing or anything unusual.Good to know that for plinking,at least I can use up some of these bullets.I plan on getting a traditional hawken, but until I can save some dollars, this should be fun.I want a "round ball rifle",has anybody got any suggestions?

I bought a lyman great plains rifle from Midsouth shooters supply a while back because they had the best prices. 50 cal kit is $371.15 and the complete is $ 465.63 . They have a 1 and 66 twist barrel made for round ball

I'm afraid the only thing that is going to shoot straight in a 1:66 barrel IS PRB. Might could sabot a round ball, don't know about that, how that would work. My Investarms hunter carbine is 1:24 and my CVA Plainsman is 1:48. Those are the guns I'm thinkin' of testing.
