Can I use Core-lokt 150 sp for my 30/30 reloads

I bought some Core-lokt 150 grain sp and they aren't flat nosed, will they be safe to reload and fire in my tube feed 30/30?

Maybe they'd be OK to stack in the tube, maybe not, eventually. The eventually part would really stink when it happened, so I'd go no.

If you can seat that bullet to a workable OAL you can do what MarcusT suggests.

This is how i loaded them in a tube fed gun. if you need over two shots to down an animal... you need a new hobby.

You might need to consider bullet construction, where the flat nose 30-30 Core-Lokt is designed to expand at the lower velocities of the 30-30, the spitzer pointed 150gr may not expand as well, and may in fact pass through like a FMJ due to a heavier jacket.
Should be fine for targets, loaded singly or 2 at a time.

if you have the round nose it will be ok in your 30-30 tube magazine. The remington 30-30 core locks in loaded ammo have the round nose. if you bought spitzer type bullets it would be best to load as described by previous poster.

Remington makes both a SP (round nose) and PSP (pointed soft point) in 30 cal.

I think you will be ok on expansion AT .30-30 RANGES.
A 150 gr Speer flatbase spitzer will have the same remaining velocity at 300 yards from a .300 Savage and at 100 yards from a .30-30.

These bullets are definetly round nosed and after further inspection of the box I found a part number of B 30301. this leads me to believe they are intended for a 30/30 and a tubular magazine.

Yes, this discussion was for naught, those are the correct CL bullets for the 30-30.
