Can NRA Training Survive the NY Lawsuit?

IMO, the other gun rights advocacy organizations should be prioritizing the development and promotion of their own certifications and training programs. Even if the NRA wasn't rotting from the inside, there should still be other options available. They've had a near monopoly for too long.

The latest NRA ballot includes a vote to change the bylaws to add a "compliance officer" to the NRA executives. It also states that this compliance officer cannot be suspended or fired by the executive VP (formerly WLP). It will probably take a couple years to see if this compliance officer has any positive effect.

The NY AG is also asking for a monitor to be appointed by the court to oversee operations.

That could be good or bad, depending on what the court wants monitored. Having the present structure changed, where members can’t directly vote for the leader, would be a good thing.
