Ok.... The Bersa .380 has been talk to death lately on the board, and I have to admit it has gotten to me.... I have 200.00 in left over birthday money burning a hole in my pocket, and the 199.99 Thunder Lite .380 @ Gander Mountain is calling to me in a big way...

Unless someone can talk me out of it, I am going to make the run up there Saturday morning and drop the cash on the little devil....

I have read all post on this board, and all of the reviews at http://www.geocities.com/bersa_thunder/index.html (Great site Horge and the review from Stephen A. Camp was very helpful)

I cannot find a reason not to get it, everyone seems to love it.

my other option was to empty the current gun fund on the P232...

Current plan: 200.00 on the Bersa.... Save for a few months and add to the other 300.00 remaining post bersa in the gun fund and buy a SA Mil-Spec .45 (perfer in stainless).

This is against the original plan of Buy P232 and sell P229 to add to the fund and buy the GSR 1911...

So this is how the collection will look for option A and option B

Option A:

New Bersa .380
Future SA 1911
Current S&W 686
Current Corto 1934 .380
Current Sig P229
Leaving Taurus .357

Option B

New P232
Future GSR 1911
Current Corto 1934 .380
Leaving p229
Leaving Corto 1934

Your thoughts?

You have a until Friday to make a case either way....

(Bersa becomes my carry if carry becomes legal/winter would be the 229 or when going into harms way. In option B P232 would be sole carry option)

Hmmmm...

I noticed one small problem with your collection that needs to be corrected... ABSOLUTELY NO .22's!!!

Might I suggest that you get a good .22 pistol instead of a .380 that might prove to be redundant in your collection? If I were in your shoes (you have a quite well rounded collection already!) I think I would really, really be wanting a .22 instead of another centerfire pistol. A .22 will help you shoot all those centerfire pistols better!

Sorry to point you in a different direction, but I looked at your collection and saw one little thing missing. Might I suggest a Ruger MKII?!

If you already have a .22 pistol, disregard this post and go get the Bersa. It really is a good pistol!

I agree with Roger.

As an owner of two Bersas I would heartily recommend you getting one.

As an owner of a Browning Buckmark Plus-if you don't have a .22 get one of these.

.22 is the logical choice from my point of view. The Bersa is a fine weapon though and I would put it on the "To Get" list.

Just do it

Get the Bersa now! I sat on my hands for a couple years debating with myself from time to time if I should get a Bersa. Finally gave in and I love the little .380acp. Replaced my EG Makarov and Beretta Tomcat in that niche of concealed carry. My only complaint WAS the hooked trigger guard. Without that it will fit like a glove in any Sig P230 or Walther PPK holster. So I had it ground down ala' the Bersa 95 and now I couldn't be happier. I wish they made a slightly larger single stack 9mm along the same lines.

I would definatly go with the Bersa for $199. I've got 2, so far, and love them, but then I've also got 2 MKII 22's so it's not a tough call for me.

My advice:

Go for option A

Get the Bersa. Continue saving for the others. Don't get rid of guns unless you hate them for some reason.

You could get me a Bersa while you're at it :) . I seem to be having trouble getting my hands on one. (Well the particular one I am looking for anyways)

I know we're talking semi autos but, every collection also needs one of the following 357 mag revolves.

:fire: Tried to post pictures and failed....

But was I was getting at is that I have a S&W 686 and A Taurus .357 Snubbie.

Denmark116, right, I read your list. I assumed "leaving" meant you were getting rid of the Taurus snubby?

Go ahead and get your Bersa before an emergency comes up and requires your $200.00 cash.

I noticed there seems to be a lack of a High-power or CZ.

Get the Bersa. I have two of them and I think they are great guns. One of the best .380s on the market for ANY price. It puts the Mak to shame. You can always pick up a .22lr but $199 for a new Bersa sounds like a GM sale. Might as well get that first. I have half a dozen .22lrs and I don't shoot them all. Get a Bersa .22lr if you REALLY want to have some fun!

Missed it.....

Well I missed it........ Sale ended yesterday, and I could not make it to the store to get it..... Something came up and it went back up to its regular price of 219.00..... :fire:

I will be adding the following three guns as I find them any money allows:

Bersa .380
1911
.22

Thanks for all the discussion.... :)

My local shop stocks those black and gold monkeys.

ugly ugly.

The all nickle ones are the nicest looking IMO.
