I bought a gun at an estate sale and I like to know as much about the gun as possible but I must confess I don’t know much about this gun other than what I have been able to get from the web (and some of that info in contradictory) so I am here to ask for insight from the folks here since you seem very knowledgeable in matters regarding ID’ing old guns. I’m given to understand it to be about 100 years old. I understand it is a very low value gun. I will also assume its chambered for 2 9/16 inch shells. Here are pictures of one of the guns. Im interested in approx. date of manufacture and more importantly model number

I have a later one, about depression era or there abouts but yours looks older than mine for sure and has different markings. I did research on mine and they can be difficult. My guess is 1900-1920 by patent date and the name on the receiver.

Actually 1900 to 1916 but based on all the images I have seen, (and the lack of ANY internal coil springs) and having only flat bar stock type springs and the lack of a cresent shape where the receiver meets the butt stock wook it rules out a lot of models. I cant pin down the model number and asking on a lot of gun forums has got me no closer to solving this one.

looks like an early Model 2 Savage shotgun. Later they added the gauge as part of the Model number like 220 was a model 2 twenty gauge. I bought one thirty years ago, shot it for rabbit and squirrel and eventually denated to the DNR for a display gun at Hunter Safety.

I can't offer any help, just wanted to say that 'Pyro Electric Steel' sounds pretty cool.

No not really. Im narrowing it down to a Stevens number 100. It seems the closest.

Thanks for that. The stevens in that pic is a hammerless. Mine has a hammer. Great info though.
