Okay, I know...a "knockoff". Well, here's the truth.
I've owned dozens of handguns over the years, from Maks to Colt Mark IV's and numerous ones in between. Right now I've got several Glocks, several Rugers, several CZ's, a couple of Maks, several Smiths....an so forth. I went out on a limb and bought the V2, with decocker, DA/SA.
So...final impression after the 500th round?
It's a keeper. Better trigger than the Glocks, ergo about like the CZ 75B, but lighter. Better accuracy than most, low recoil (my wife loves it).
The only issue was finding a holster for a southpaw. I finally found one in the Safariland 578. Fits perfectly, but then that holster is supposed to be able to fit over 200 handguns.
I used to say the Czech 82 was the best "cheap" handgun, and I still say it's the best Milsurp value out there. But this Canik has now taken the lead in the best "Inexpensive" handguns I own and has to be ranked in the top 3 of all I've ever owned at any price.
We'll see after I hit 1000 rounds, but the thing passed the 50k NATO test, so I'm not too worried.
Don't shy away from a great buy just because it's not a name brand.
