I am considering getting a Canik S-120 pistol.

What are people's thoughts on them? I have read a few reviews and they look favorable.

Also, where do you get more mags for the pistol?

Thanks.

You can get Mec-Gar magazines for it. I've read you can use CZ75 mags, but don't know how accurate that is. It is supposed to be a nice clone of the CZ75. Been reading up a bit on these myself.

I've heard good things...but for not all that much more you can get a cz75. Granted another 200 bucks or so can be a make it or break it for some and I get that. Something to consider though...unless you just want the turkish copy.

Perhaps consider the P-120. It is a copy of the SP01, a more expensive/better version of the cz75...

After getting it, let me know if it is good :)

I have a TriStar/Canik C-100 in .40 that I like quite a bit. The only appreciable difference from true CZ's is a regular barrel (not polygonal).

I have a S-120 and really like it. Staight out of the box I put 2 shots touching each other just outside the 1/2" bullseye. Has been very reliable. I know others may think I am crazy, but I sold my 92FS after I bought the S-120. Fits my hands better and I have been able to shoot the S-120 better than the 92FS. I prefer steel and this is a steal at $329.

I purchased extra mags from Greg Cote ... they work great.

The last CZ to have a polygonal barrel was the CZ82.

All 75 variants have traditional rifling.

I have a Canik Shark FC that has been flawless.
Get some CGW springs/pins right away..

CZ mags will work. After all, MecGar makes them.

Greg Cotes MecGar CZ mags are the "best buy" as they tend to cost about half as much as the pricey CZ mags.

I've got both the Tristar C100 and Tristar L120. Both are aluminum framed guns and have performed flawlessly. They're also pretty popular with the guys at the CZ forums.

I've put about 950 rounds through the C100 and several hundred through the L120 as well.

I wrote a short review on the L120 and my impression of the C100 is on here someplace too. Basically my opinion of them so far is that they stack up well to actual CZ75B pistols.

I have a canik55 Stingray and the CGW Springs. Have fired about 500 rounds through it with no cleaning and not one dang problem. not one! Right away it was the most accurate pistol ive ever shot. Best 302$ i ever spent!

Like some others, I have two of C100's and also the Stingray-C, all have functioned without a single failure. The prices are starting to sneak upwards. I know they may not hold their value like some name brands but function accuracy and reliability are great. Some guns are investments but to me most are like a tool, I buy them for a certain reason. Resale price never enters my head for most other products that I buy, I don't know why that is a hindrance for others.
