If the recipe in the reloading manual calls for a magnum primer I use one. I got tired of 296 and the identical H110 years ago. Too much blast and flames from my Model 19 when I used that stuff to reload 110 grain JHP's. Same story with 2400 - I am more interested in accuracy than I used to be. When I was in my 20's I read a lot of Elmer Keith books and used lots of 2400 in Magnum loads for 44 Mag and 357 Mag.I stand corrected.
My chart at link has the WLP listed as Large Pistol (LP). Being as i have always used the WLP with W296 & H110, thinking its more a magnum then standard primer.
