Looks like being a good b/f and good son are gonna pay off this year... the g/f gave me a $1000 budget and my father gave me a budget of $500 for Christmas. :neener:

As of right now I have a 16" middy AR, an AK, Remington 770, 1911, glock 19, .22 rifle and single shot .410.

I'm really liking the Mossy 930 SPX as I've wanted a tactical 12 ga for a while, I had a Mossy 500 field/slug combo but had to sell it for rent $. The Benelli Nova and Super Nova are kind of appealing too with all their features.

I'm also kind of wanting a .308, mainly for hunting and some long range shooting. I've been eyeing the Ruger Scout rifle and a Savage 10 with a tan tactical stock at the local Dick's Sporting Goods for $700, can't remember what exact model 10 but it looked good... I'd probably just sell the Remington 770 and use that money for an optic for the Savage or Ruger. The 770 is accurate but it seems like the action was made in a cave in Pakistan, you couldn't find a rougher action if you tried.

I do have a spare AR lower and would like to build a carbine so a parts kit or nice upper is an option.

I'm pretty satisfied in the handgun dept, 1911 for home and glock for carry. Ammo and mags are pretty beefed up for all my guns and training is already in the works. Just looking to add to my collection but just can't decide what to get.

Show me something that's gonna make me drool!!!

Welllllllllll since you already have a lower, why not get an upper in something like .300 BLK or .30 Remington? Then you'll have a semi-auto .30 caliber gun. Ta-da! I just filled a couple of your wants! ;) The upper would probably run you in the $600-$800 range, which leaves money for an optic/irons, ammo, the lower parts kit, a nice trigger, and magazines.

The 930 is one stinking incredible gun though, definitely something to consider. Once broken in, it is said to handle anything put through it.

definitely an option, does .300 blk use standard AR mags or would I need a different follower?

I would second the idea of a 12 gauge shotgun. You can pick up a new Mossberg Model 930 with two barrels for around $600. Plenty of gift money left over for ammo, accessories, and the like. Enjoy your good fortune.

Set aside 1 month's rent. That should leave you enough to buy either a .308 or that Mossberg 930 SPX and some ammo for it.
