I'm reloading 30-06 (HPX and Lakecity) and .308 (Indian OVF and Lakecity). I've removed the primer crimp. except on the Greek which doesn't seem to need it removed (I think it's just staked) and didn't have any problems seating primers using Winchester large rifle primers, I used over 1000. I ran out of Winchester primers and opened some CCI #34 surplus primers I picked up from Weidners.......now I'm having problems seating seating the CCI primers, sometimes they'll go in fine, sometimes they will be canted to the side and crushed....but it never happens with the greek brass, only the LC and OVF. If I ream out the primer pocket a little more that seems to allevate the problem somewhat but it still happens enough so that it's annoying. I'm using a Lee auto prime. Do I just need to ream the primer pocket still more? Are the CCI primers that larger than the Winchester? Does my Lee primer play a part in this? Just looking for anyoine that might have run into the same problem.

All crimped primer pockets need to be reamed or swaged.
No matter whether it is a full ring crimp, or stab crimp.

That your primers are being seated canted indicates the Lee shell holder doesn't fit the brass properly. If it did, the case couldn't tilt and allow crooked seating.

I'd try further crimp removal and go from there on shell holder fit if you still have a problem.

The primers should enter the primer pockets snug, but smoothly, with no initial resistance getting them started if you have removed all the crimp.
