Just got my first black powder replica, the 1860 Army .44 by Uberti. The manual does not say which cap size to use. I assume #10, but would like to be sure. Also, the nipple wrench in Cabela's starter kit won't engage the nipples. Will the Ted Cash ratchet nipple wrench for #10 nipples work? No black powder available locally, just Pyrodex. Will the 25 grain load still be right with Pyrodex? And will Cabela's stainless see Pietta nipples fit the Uberti cylinder? Thanks for any information.

Cap sizes are not standardized, so that question can not be answered.
All #10s are not the same.
Treso Nipples & Remington #10 or Slix nipples and Remington #10 are unbeatable combinations.
Tresos are hard to find right now, but are usually available at muzzleloader shops, like the Possible Shop.
Slix nips are available at LongHunter Supply & Desperado Cowboy bullets.
Make sure you buy the Uberti version of aftermarket nipples
The thread is 12-28.
Treso #11-50-16 (or a six-pack #11-50-166)
Slix -- http://www.longhunt.com/storelh/index.php?route=product/category&path=88_97
Pyrodex is fine, 25 grains is fine.
Ted Cash ratchet wrenches for #10 should work
Hope this helps
