Went to the local gun shop to get an extra mag for my Remington R1 1911. All they had in stock was a Chip McCormick stainless 1911 magazine. bought it; as they don't know when mags are going to be available again. However, I wondered if the stainless mag would not be good for my R1 since it is not stainless.
Will it cause any wear/tear that I should be concerned about; either on the slide or the slide stop? I didn't know if a stainless mag has to go to a stainless pistol. Right now, the only issue I see is cosmetic. The chip mccormick mags have always worked better than the factory issued mags. Thanks for your insights.
