Is there a sight that will advise of carry laws in different states? I was thinking of something simular to a motor club that plans a trip for you and then steers you around road construction and warns of potnential speed traps. Is there a site where one could plot their itinerary and the be informed of any quirky gun laws in the states they plan to pass through.

Try This

I always use handgunlaw.us and check with opencarry.org, too.

Handgunlaw.us will make you a "reciprocity map" where you can enter which permits you hold and it will show you where you can carry. But you're still going to have to go to the page for each state you plan to pass through to see exactly what their "off limits" places might be, duty to notify, etc.

I ended up apologizing for it, 'cause that fellow got his feelings hurt. To me it is a gentle practical joke that always gets a laugh out of me when folks have done it to me in the past. But some folks are ... "sensitive."

It is also cool that it shows you exactly what google entry worked to get you the answer you were looking for. "TEACH a man to fish," indeed.

There has been no "official" decision on if the LMGTFY thing is just too "insensitive" to use here without crushing folks' fragile psyches.

Discretion is probably the better road.

There are alot of sites on the internet with varying degrees of accuracy, some are nonsense, and some are difficult to decifer. I though someone might point me in the right direction and avoid going down some rabbit trails.

Nice snark though. I am a loan officer in a bank. Thick skin comes with the territory, especially now day.

You can trust handgunlaw.us pretty well. They offer the cite for each law and often links if you want to go read it yourself in the state codes.

And their format couldn't really be much easier to decipher. Especially for someone used to dense, convoluted paperwork ... like a loan officer! :D

Most will get over it. And there's always counseling.
