In the spring and summer I like to wear bibs to work in the woods and while fishing. I have not yet found a decent manner of carry, open or concealed. What would you suggest?
Too hard to get to. My main concern is copperheads and rattlesnakes. If I'm unzipping or fiddling with flaps I'm too slow. With both snakes if you know it's around your way too close. When fishing add cottonmouth to the list. I have been wearing a western cowboy belt carrying a single six. Before that I was pocket carrying a 410 sxs derringer made in duck town tn that now lives at the bottom of Barkley lake. There just doesn't seem to be a secure but accessible way to carry in bibs
Just because you are wearing bibs, there is no reason you cannot wear a belt. So I'd continue to wear the cowboy belt and holster.
Or.. it probably would not be hard to rig straps to the bib buttons and wear a cross draw shoulder holster. I'd be worried about how secure it was.. but it would give you quick access.
A chest rig or shoulder holster would be nice if you can find something to anchor the bottom to. Otherwise you, and I, are probably going to be stuck with wearing a belt and holster of some kind. If you find a better solution, please advise...
