Does anyone get case splits during the seating process, or do you usually get them before this stage? I just loaded a batch of 25 .45acp and noticed that two cases had splits in them that weren't there before seating. Usually I get the splits while resizing.

They usually split when fired, or during case expanding / flairing.
If the brass is very old, or has been reloaded several times, it work-hardens and is prone to split.

if i get case splits , they are usually either after firing , or after deprime and size ! Kevin
