Load data for Missouri Bullet Company bullets
Well, folks really shouldn't confuse us with a ballistics research lab. We make cast bullets and use most of the ones we make (the ones which will fit in the guns we have!) Any information we can offer is anecdotal or based upon personal experience. I do like 4.7 grains of Bullseye for the 230 grain SoftBall! bullet we make, although I load it hotter at times. However, I will not often recommend other than a reasonably mild load to anyone I'm not shooting next to at the range due to liability reasons.
I wish we had a staff which did nothing but research internal balllistics using our bullets, but we make cast bullets, as do so many others, and there are reams and reams of published data out there dealing with cast bullets. I mean - reams! So, I confess to some bafflement when someone maybe asks us for published load data for our bullets. We do have a link to Amazon's offering of Ken Waters Pet Loads on our website, which is something that I recommend people purchase. It has served me well for decades now for rifle, pistol, cast and jacketed and it a wonderful delight to read besides.
So, when I said "4.7 of Bullseye works for me" I was being very sincere. Perhaps I should have explained that we are a 4-person operation which stays very busy operating the business and there isn't a lot of time to do other peoples' research for them. But I offered friendly advice that I believe was good and valid.
And I am the owner of MBC, if anyone's wondering.
Best,
Brad
