Cast bullets in .357 magnum rifle suggestions

I've had great luck with the various MBC 12 BHN conventionally lubed bullets in a single shot Henry and my 10" TC Contender. I'm running them in .38 brass at or near +P loads and they are still accurate with no leading.

The Henry has been very non-fussy about powders. Pretty much any suitable one I've tried produced great accuracy, with H-6 perhaps having a slight edge.

I've run their RN 158-18BHN up to a full charge of H110 in .357 with no issues also, but accuracy was less than stellar in this case.

Fine medicine for armadillo, coyote, and one unlucky skunk. Haven’t used it for deer, but I expect it’d work at shorter distances. They’re as accurate as I am out to about 75 yards which is as far as I can shoot accurately with irons.
I casted some of those this last fall, GC'd and PC. Ready to load up with 2400. I hope they're accurate out of my rifle also. :)

For some odd reason I've decided to try cast bullets in some of my .357 magnum rifles (4 Marlins,1 Henry and 1 Ruger bolt action) All I'm looking for is something to plink with (no hunting) Any suggestions, commercial source.?
One issue about the Ruger 77/357 with SWC was, I had to run a small file in the rotary magazine. Where the cartridge comes out, there was a slight burr, or sharp edge that the SWC wanted to catch on. Once I smoothed it with a slight angle, the cartridge comes smoothly out of the magazine. :)

I really like that bullet. Cuts good holes on paper, and hits like a hammer on the critters I’m culling from my hunting haunt.

I haven’t jumped into powder coating yet. Sounds silly, but I like the look of pan lubed and gas checked boolits. Plus, if I get the gear to powder coat I’m not sure where I’d put it…my loading bench and garage are cluttered as is. Maybe after nicer weather and my Spring cleanup/Cleanout.

My experence does not support your assertion. I drive maximum charges of 158 class bullets at bhn 12. Elmer Keith seems to think it was a fine idea. If you can support a reason for using over bhn 12 in a 357 I'm all ears.

Well your experience is all that matters
To bad Elmer and Brad Albert are no longer with use. You could join the round table discussion.

You can also consult your Lymans cast bullet manual and read all about it. A whole long chapter right up you ally.
Then get into bore slugging, bullet size and lubes.
They make different alloys (as you know of course) for a reason.
Debate it with someone else

I know all about clutter. We moved here six years ago. I still have stuff boxed up and to box up to take to donate at Goodwill.
