CCI Blazer Aluminum Alloy Cases

I did a brief search, and did not find what I was looking for, so sorry if I overlooked a previous thread about it. I have a couple questions I was hoping some guru's could answer.

I know the aluminum is cheaper than brass, so that's why they are less $$$ than brass casings. So, how are these to fire in bulk? Any feeding issues? Damage to gun internals? Or, just another round eaten by your gun?

As far as I've seen, they're just another bullet...

The only disadvantage is that it's not meant to be reloaded

I have shot around 10,000 rounds of 9mm CCI Blazer aluminum cased ammo with no issues whatsoever. Accuracy has been very good. I have recently switched over to CCI Blazer Brass for the sole reason that I can buy it for ~$1.00 less per box of 50 at Wal Mart than I can buy the aluminum stuff at Academy.

Buy a couple of boxes and see it it functions OK. I have fired blazer aluminum in every handgun I own with no problems, however I have read post from others that claimed that in in their handgun it didn't function well.

Actually, it's the other way around. I have one 1911 that will absolutely not fire Blazer Aluminum, but that is because for some reason it's extractor claw just rips through the rims, resulting in an FTE.

Steel cased ammo is what is hard on extractors and ejectors. Steel impacting steel, even when it is hardened against mild steel, is usually bad news in the long run.

You wouldn't want to run it in any full-auto toys, for fear of a thermite reaction. This is why the military doesn't use aluminum cases. Other than that, you should be good to go...

I've used aluminum-cased Blazer ammo in a variety of calibers and in a variety of pistols without any trouble. But, I have had trouble shooting .40 S&W aluminum-cased Blazer out of a Ruger PC4 carbine. The blowback action in these little rifles would consistently rip the aluminum case in half and jam the action of the gun. Ruger does, however, specifically warn that this can happen in their Police Carbines. Strangely, though, I never experienced this problem with aluminum-cased Blazer ammo in the 9mm PC9.

LOL, no full auto here, just a Sigma 9ve. I was just looking to order online and saw some of the alum. casings and wanted to make sure there were no serious issues with them. I don't reload, so I don't recover casings so that's not an issue with me. Thanks guys!

I've thousands of rounds of CCI Blazer aluminum through my Ruger P95 with no issues at all. To me it's no better and no worse than WWB or Remington green.

If you shoot at a public or private range, check to see if they allow aluminum cased ammo. Some don't. Mine doesn't allow aluminum,steel, and AK-47's. I know, it sucks.

Mine functioned well through the two boxes I bought, but I eventually decided that I'd rather buy brass, keep the empties and have either my dad reload them or exchange them at a place like MasterCast.

I've run a case of 500 9mm through my XD, not one issue of FTF or FTE.
Would I use this as a carry ammo? No but for plinkin its perfect.

i have had never had any issues with them , they are just as reliable accurate, and dirty as all the other brands for me.

the cases won't hurt your extractor/internals, aluminum is softer than the steel in the parts.

it isn't re loadable, just be aware of that.

Back when I still owned a Witness 9mm I bought about 4 boxes of the aluminum stuff and it sucked. All kinds of malfs, FTE's, FTF's, on and on and on. I stopped using it after a box and a half. About a year later when I got my 3913 I tried it with that and again nothing but problems. So I locked the last 2 boxes in my crap ammo can and haven't looked at it since. Both my Witness(long gone) and my 3913(still own and shoot regularly) had zero problems with any other ammo I have ever used.

Some ranges have signs banning it because "it explodes", but I think they just don't want to pick it out of the brass they make their range reloads out of.

I have gone through thousands of rounds of Blazer aluminum in 9x19 and have never had a problem. Some ranges don't allow it, but when I question the reason I always get a lame answer.
