What other primer is out there to use when you cannot find any CCI No. 34 primers. They will be used in a RRA LAR-8 rifle. I am look for a primer that will not let a “slam fire” happen.

Tula makes one, I recently picked some up but havent put them through my LR308 yet. I did try some with a bolt 308 and they worked pretty well.

Word out there is CCI 34s are getting hard to come by. I paid $35 for a brick last week and hated doing it, but they are out of stock usually locally. I've never seen Russian primers for sale locally/ Supposedly the ones mentioned abover are excellent from a consistency standpoint (some high power 1000 yard match guys like them).

CCI mag rifle primers are supposedly pretty close in slam fire resistance. Federal supposed to be the worst? I've shot Fed, Fed Match, WLR, WLRM, CCI standard, CCI mag, etc. in my Garands, and they have all had striker dents in them when I eject live rounds and have never had a slam fire.

According to CCI their NATO primers are magnum strength so when I can't find CCI#34 primers I use CCI-250 primers and when those are not available I have used CCI-200 standard large rifle primers without issues.
