I think you may be over analyzing, the only people that would look at your 1.5" belt and think CCW! are people who also CC and couldn't care less that you are wearing a gun.

The wider the belt, the more supportive. 1.75" is great, but it might limit your holster and pant selection, 1.5" is the best all around size IMO. Don't go smaller than 1.25"

If you live in or near a large market find your local leo suppier. We have Whole Armor in asheville and they should have more than enough choice's and prices should be good. I just picked up a jay-pee garison 1 1/2" 2 layer 4 rows of striching for just less than 30 bucks. They also had sam brown dress and the wilderness style

Much to my wife's horror, I often wear the new army-issue rigger's belt, tan colored two inch strap. Six bucks. Seriously, it's not too bad with shorts and t shirts, I use different belts with more formal clothes.

I still have a commemorative belt buckle from my old armor battalion I have never gotten around to putting on a belt. Maybe I should finally get one.

I wear 1.5" with everything, suits included.

I've also used a 1.25" belt, and it works fine. All of my nicer holsters are set up for 1.5", so that's what I try to wear.

1.25 in belt mostly (formal dress), 2 lbs hadngun mostly. 1.5 in belt when wearing casual clothes.

Dress belt

Take a look a Galco SB3 dress belt for Sunday-go-to-meetin' pants where work/western/web belts look out of place.http://www.usgalco.com The Galco looks normal and carries well with light to medium weight guns. I have the 1 1/2" width.

I can also vouch for the quality and looks of Ken Null's dress belts. http://www.klnullholsters.com I would still be wearing mine but it shrank over the years.:what:

I would appreciate you looking at my offerings, Thanks.

I really like those nylon duty belts actually. I wear one of the 5.11 trainers, 1 1/2 in wide almost all the time. The only real give away is the sound of velcro in a bathroom stall, but I just flush the john and use the noise as cover. It tends to fit my dress style though, mid 20's, long hair, band t-shirt, jeans, combat boots and a bdu jacket. It holds my Sig in appendix iwb and a Ruger snubby in crossdraw like a charm.
