Thanks, guys. I ordered a safepacker in "gov't" size and a short slide adapter so I can use it for my full size 1911 and my kimber procarry. I also ordered an instructor belt, which I hear lots of good things about.
Something that wasn't mentioned is that if you find yourself feeling something isn't right, you can open and tuck the Safepacker's flap back and basically turn it into an open top holster.
Depending on the pistol's size and color, it is likely to remain fairly well concealed, but you can draw the pistol almost as fast as a normal belt holster. Just don't go swinging upside down on trees.
