Anybody CCW a 1911 hicap? I know single stack 1911s are heavy on the side already even with a good belt and a good holster. So If anyone CCW a hicap 1911, in .40, 45acp etc. kindly post your CCW pics. Im planning to get a hicap 1911 in 45acp and I hope to get a firsthand info from you guys on the best way to carry the hicap.

Thanks in advance.

I sometimes carry a Para Ordnance P-14 .45. I carry it in the same OWB 1911 holster that my single stack fits with no problems. The thick grips make very little difference.

I have also used an IWB holster with similar results but I seldom use IWB any more for either.

My brother used to carry a steel framed 5" semi high capacity (10+1) Norinco Np-30.

I've since upgraded him to a high capacity (14+1) Bul M5 5". It is easily half the weight of the NP-30.

He generally carries it in a cheap assed OWB nylon pancake holster. And it completely vanishes.

I know I've got a better pic of him somewhere, but recently my main HD crashed, and I'm slowly having to get my pics together again.

Another pic, the 1911 is strong side hip, this time is a cheap assed leather IWB holster. And I use the word "leather" in the loosest possible way. I bought the holster years ago for a dress up party to take a plastic springer 6mm 1911. He used it for his Norinco.

Over the years I keep buying him leather and a couple of kydex holsters, but he never uses them.

He's comming to the range again this weekend. I'll grab some pics of how/where he carries then.

Again, this isn't his CCW shirt. It will ride up if he bends over. It is the middle of winter here, and he was wearing a huge rain jacket. You could conceal an AK under it, so it wouldn't have been a fair representation of what you can hide a high cap under.....
