Blend in to your surroundings Dress with in reason as what is considered the norm for your environment. Don't stick out. Be observant of others. .

Even if its a super relaxed "come as you are" policy, growing up going to church i just can't do that.

I have one sport jacket or suit jacket, a couple pairs of slacks and several button up shirts all from my retail days.

I'd rock my normal EDC but just use the suit jacket for cover. Done deal.

I don't have an EDC kit. Church is the only place I carry. In some ways, this is a whole new experience for me that may or may not (not likely) transfer to other parts of my life.

If you dont carry all the time, Id suggest you start trying to do so as much as you possibly can, even if its just around the house, to the point that it becomes a natural thing to you and you dont even give it a thought. The more you do it, the easier it gets.

If you act off sketchy, like maybe youre carrying a gun, or like you might be up to something, people will pick up on that, assuming their heads arent buried in their phones and are even paying attention. But things like that will tend to draw attention. If you act naturally/normally, even wearing 3 guns, 4 knives, and a couple of saps, they wont pay you any mind. :)

You also have to get over what you think other people think, "rules" that have no force, etc, and stop worrying about things like that. Just go about your day as if it was any other day, simply, because it is.

A lot of how you carry a gun has nothing to do with the gun or how you carry it, its how you carry yourself while you are carrying it.

No jacket? Go Cubano!

Go hit up one of the "suit places" when looking
Around here they're called Thrift Stores.
Go buy a couple of $3.99 sport coats/jackets and see how they do. If that's not the right path, you're not out a lot of money and just donate them back.

My IWB holster is an old Desantis leather/kydex that does allow a shirt to be tucked. I've found I can clip it over the top of my waistband, then route the belt outside the clips to help obscure them. Concealing the gun doesn't do much good if the holster is still visible. It's not my favorite, but works fine when necessary.

I rarely wear shorts unless I'm in a boat. It never fails that I end up welding or using the torch when I wear shorts.
A compact auto in a DeSantis softuk (suede) or slim tuk (kydex) should work for about anyone.

There's a logic there, but, after you include tailoring (and you really should) you are about break even to finding a "suit place" for a similar jacket.
Having properly fitted clothes is its own reward, for one.
And, proper fit will help a person look more relaxed.
And, decrease by one more thing, distractions, in case of need.
My 2¢

That decision was already made for me. Possession of a firearm on the premises of my employer, even in my vehicle, is banned. The vast, vast majority of my time is spent either at work or on my way to and from work. So no point in that. Church is about the only place I can carry.

Want a blanket disagreement or chronological?

In 2015 my aunt died rather expectedly. After leaving the cemetery, my sister comments to me "That looks a lot like the shirt and jacket you wore to my wedding" which was in 2008.
I concurred that it was very possible if not highly likely.
She says "Oh, it definitely is. I have the pictures on my phone."

I did buy a suit last fall for my nephew's wedding and retired my old gear. If once every 7 years is as often as I play dress-up, no tailor in the world will make me comfy. I do have a better selection of ties though.

What about when youre home, and not at work? Or dont you have a life outside of work?

Ill leave the NPE thing up to you, but I carried in those environments my whole life.

I'm glad that has worked out for you. I don't feel the need or obligation to explain my life circumstances to you. It should be sufficient for me to day "church is about the only place I can carry."
